This morning, Thursday the 2nd of February , Bob, I, Jeff and Dale went for a ride to Everglades City.
Once there we had lunch at this restaurant that was decorated with old gas station items.
Here Dale, Jeff and Bob are looking at a big alligator that was along the road.
The next day Sandy and I went to Sanibel Island. Here are a couple pictures Sandy took as we crossed the bridge.
We stopped at the Ding Darling National Refuge and discovered that they were closed on Fridays, so we will have to come back later to visit the Refuge.

Here we, Jeff, Bob, I and Dale are getting ready to head to Daytona Bike Week. This will be the first time that Bob and I have been there.
On Tuesday we woke up to rain that quit by 9:30, but the wind had gusts up to 45 MPH. While we were waiting for the rain to end we watched as they unloaded this trike from a semi onto a flat bed wrecker. It turns out that it was built for a guy who is in a wheelchair and the back end has a tail gate that he drives up into a special built box that has special controls for steering.
We spent the day across the street where the Harley dealership is and there were a bunch of vender booths set up.
Wednesday we spent the day at the Daytona Speedway where a lot of venders were selling their products.
I spotted this one bike that said Geese Chasers on the air cleaner. Since I ride a Moto Guzzi that is sometimes called a goose, I had this image pop in my head of this bike following and trying to catch me, but never quit catching up.
Now here is what a starting price of $52,000 will get you.
This is a BMW R1200GS with a Hannigan sidecar.
Sadly, today the 5th of March, Dale and Mary are heading back to Minnesota. They have a new grandson due in the middle of the month and wanted to be back home to help out. Here I’m giving Dale a hand pack the patio table into the shed.
Mary is trying to entice the goldfish out of the pond so they could be given to a neighbor.
She caught one, then the rest went into hiding. After a while I tried my hand at it with no success. Soooo---Dale had to come to the rescue.
Today is also the start of Cypress Woods Days. This turned out to be a fun filled weekend. It started out with a parade and here is Cody getting ready to watch the action. He is our neighbor’s Australian Heeler and he is so smart and well behaved.
Men and their toys.
After the parade they had a pool party where we had hamburgers and hot dogs. The beginners line dancers performed and later----
Roberts on the Steel Drum.
Then in the evening they held The Ed Sullivan Show and this turned out to be a blast.
This group lip synced the Mama’s and Papa’s.
Here are Sonny and Cher.
Of course, what would an Ed Sullivan show be without The Beatles.
Then there was Tiny Tim with “Tip Toe Through the Tulips”.
Even Phyllis Diller was in the audience and came up for a bow.
Of course, they had to censor Elvis. Are those ladies peeking?
Saturday started out with a pancake breakfast and the another pool party where a group called FBI performed songs from the 50’s and 60’s. They also had a Name That Tune segment which was fun.
That evening we had a steak dinner with entertainment that was started off with a performance by the JUGS. (Just Us Gals)
The band that performed was Mark Zauss with the Z Street Band. The music was so good that only one song was played when the dance floor was not full.
All the tables had five couples and we sat at a table with two of the guys I went to Daytona with and two other couples that are in their cull-de-sac.
Carolyn and Frank.
Lou and Bob.
Steve and Georgana. (One of the Jugs)
For those who have not seen us for awhile. Sandy and Dave.
Bob and Brenda. (Also one of the Jugs)
It was a great evening had by all.
On Sunday Bob, Jeff and I rode to Estaro Island then over to Immokalee, up towards Clewiston, then back to Cypress Woods.
Monday evening the cull-de-sac where Bob and Brenda are had a barbecue rib supper and they invited us. The guys that cooked the ribs should start a restaurant. They made the best ribs we’ve ever eaten.
It is starting to get warmer here but the next few days have rain in the forecast.
Until next time,
Dave and Sandy

Looks like you've been having a grand time with your bike and riding buddies. Time flies. Don't hurry back to the cold country too soon. Rain, rain, rain here in the SW. The wildflower season will be magnificent. Keep having fun. Jane and Ron
Enjoyed your Blog....great pictures. Happy Travels. We are still in Red Bay and may be heading towards Florida after here.
