Sunday the 8th had us heading to Tillicum Beach NFS
Campground. Along the way we went thru the Umpqua
Lighthouse. This has a very unique prism. Part of it was red. This
was Sandy's favorite lighthouse.

When we got settled in at the campground it was time to enjoy the
view of the sand dunes and kites flying over the beach.
The next day, Monday the 9th, we went to the Heleta
Lighthouse
but found that it was closed. So we went to the Cape Perpetua
Interpretive Center where they has some very interesting tidal
pools.
After exploring the tidal pool we went back to the campground
where the fog was settling in for the evening.
Tuesday found us on the road again heading to Cape Lookout
State
Park south of Tillamook, OR.
When Jane set up this trip she scheduled it so we moved ever 2-3
days along the coast. And her goal was to visit all the light houses
along the way.
While driving we stopped at both the Yaquina Bay
Lighthouse and the Yaquina Head Lighthouse which is the tallest
one on the Oregon coast.

We never realized there were so many sand dunes on the Oregon
and Washington coast.
On Wednesday the 11th Ron, Sandy and I went to the Tillamook
Air Museum. It was very interesting with several planes that are the
only one or one of just a few flying examples left. The hanger was a
Blimp hanger during WWII.
Until next time,
Dave and Sandy
