WE MADE IT TO ARIZONA

First of all we want to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

One morning, before we left the cold cold north country, Sandy said she could hear a screeching outside. Since I did not have my hearing aids in I could not hear the noise, and probably wouldn’t have even with the hearing aids. Anyway, she got up to look out the window and could see something in the trees that looked like it was eating something. She thought it probably was a hawk. A little later when she looked out this owl was sitting on a post behind our house, probably well fed. It was interesting watching it sit there for 15-20 minutes before flying back into the trees. We think it was either a Gray-Phased Screech owl or a Boreal owl, although this is a little south of their normal range.

It's cold out here.

We left home on Tuesday the 27th and pulled into the Cave Creek Maricopa County Campground on the 31st. We made it in just in time as it's been mostly on and off rain since we arrived.

It looks like starting tomorrow we can start spending some time outside.

Until next time,
Dave and Sandy
